初級

'Make'

• I made a cake for my mother's birthday.
  お母さんの誕生日の為にケーキを作りました。
  
  
• He makes dinner for himself everyday.
  彼は毎晩自分の夕飯を作ります。

中級

'Make out' (理解する・分かる)

• I can hardly make out his writing.
  彼の字はほとんど読めない。
  
  I couldn't make out what he was saying.
  
• 彼が何を言っているのか分からなかった。

中上級

'Make (someone's) mouth water' (お腹がすく)

• The smell coming from the kitchen made my mouth water.
  キッチンから匂ってくる臭いでお腹がすいてきた 。
  
  
• The thought of eating roast chicken for dinner makes my mouth water.
  夕飯にチキンローストを食べている事を考ているだけで、お腹がすいてくる。

上級

'Make a killing' (たくさんのお金をもうける)

• He made a killing in the stock market.
  彼は株でたくさんのお金をもうけた。
  
  
• You could make a killing if you could figure out a way to harness the power of lightning.
  もし、あなたが稲妻の力の動力の方法を見つけ出していたら、たくさんお金をもうけることが出来たでしょう。
